Hoßkirch Municipal Coat of Arms

Shield Gules, issuant from base an embattled wall Or masoned Sable, in chief an impending key Or in fess.
Meaning:
The embattled wall is alluding to the ephemeral era, in which Hoßkirch had city rights, granted in 1296 by the abbots of Weingarten Abbey and their reeves, the Lords of Fronhofen. The key is the attribute of St. Peter, the local patron saint. Golden and red are the tinctures of the Counts of Königsegg, who had been reeves since 1286 and also manorial lords after 1527.
