Hemmingen Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
In a golden (= yellow) shield is a blue grate, formed like an upside down shield, with its handle at the bottom.
The grate is an attribute of St. Lorenz (Latin: Laurentius), the patron saint of the local parish church. The pattern was used on coloured stamps since the 19th century. Without shield the grate probably had been a local symbol long before. The municipality reconfirmed the existence of the coat of arms and its colours on 6 March 1935.

The banner was approved on 15 April 1980 by the county administration, published in GABl 230/1981.
