Vilsheim Coat of Arms

Shield Gules a hat Azure with cuffed brim Vair, crested by a coronet Or and five heron feathers Argent, chief parted per fess of Vert and Or.
The brimmed hat is the heraldic symbol of the Pusch family, who died out in the 17th century. The kin acquired fortress and district (Bavarian: Hofmark) of Vilsheim from Duke Heinrich XVI the Rich of Bayern-Landshut in 1411. The family ruled the village until 1618 and rebuilt the local parish church in Neo-Gothic style. The tinctures of the chief are reminding on the Counts of Spreti, who acquired the local Kapfing Castle by matrimony. They also owned Vilsheim Castle, which was demolished in 1908.

The banner has never been approved officially. The arms were approved on 1 June 1959 by Minister of Interior of Bayern.
