Riedenburg Coat of Arms

Renaissance shield Or a bend sinister Gules charged with three heraldic roses Argent.
The current pattern is known from city seals with prints since 1376 The roses are taken from the arms of the Burgraves of Riedenburg. The pattern remained basically the same, predominantly the roses were depicted on a bend sinister. The tinctures changed frequently. In the 16th century there had been a black bend sinister on a silver shield, since the beginning of the 18th century the basic tincture had been black, in 1816 red roses on a silver bend on a green shield. Literature of the 19th century displayed the shield as given in the Heidelbergian Manesse Codex (1295/1300), golden shield with red bend and white roses. The roses were seeded golden until the 20th century.

The probably plain triband is traditional. Arms are in use since the 14th century.
