Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
The shield has three points at the bottom end. The shield is divided per fess. Above in a blue field is a golden (=yellow), double queued demi-lion issuant, crowned, armed and tongued red. Below the silver (=white) field is divided by three blue, wavy fesses.
Meaning:
According to source the demi-lion is symbolizing Geldern; the fesses are canting and symbolizing local creeks and are also alluding to the former municipality of Beek (=creek).
