Ingelfingen Coat of Arms

Shield Azure, issuant from base a crozier Argent.
A settlement of the Counts of Krautheim beneath Lichteneck Castle was overtaken by the Counts of Hohenlohe in the late 13th century. It gained market town privileges in 1323 by King Ludwig the Bavarian and has been continuously called a city since 1334. It became the residence of a branch line of the Hohenlohe-Neuenstein kin in 1701, which named itself Hohenlohe-Ingelfingen. The city seals since the 15th century, existence proven since the 16th century, always displayed the crozier, alluding to the close connection of the city with Komburg Monastery since the 12th century until 1483 and to St. Nicholas as local patron saint. The colours were fixed officially in 1969.
