Angelbachtal Coat of Arms

Shield Azure, two bars wavy Or, superimposed by two staffs fleury Gules in saltire, over all an inescutcheon Azure, charged with a waxing moon crescent Or with face.
Meaning:
The charges are taken from the arms of the former municipalities of Eichtersheim and Michelfeld, which merged on 1 April 1972. The charges had already appeared on former local seals. Michelfeld, a dominion of the Barons of Gemmingen-Hornberg from 1508 until 1806, displayed the crescent on local seals since 1665, sometimes without face. The crescent probably had been a local symbol. The seals of Eichtersheim with prints since 1717 displayed the crossed staffs from the family arms of the Lords of Venningen, local rulers from the 16th century until 1806. The bars wavy are symbolising the name of the new municipality. The tinctures are taken from the family arms of the Barons of Gemmingen.

Banner and arms were approved on 30 April 1985 by the county administration, published in GABl 312/1986.
