Merdingen Coat of Arms

Shield Or, a heraldic rose Gules seeded Azure and barbed Vert.
Meaning:
The local rulers changed often since the Medieval. Since 1666/1668 the Barons of Kageneck owned one third, the Teutonic Order two thirds since 1716. In 1806 the whole village became a dominion of Baden. Seals existed since 1811, already displaying a rose with unknown meaning. The tinctures were fixed in 1902.
