Lugau Coat of Arms

Shield Or, on top of a mount issuant Vert a house Sable with open gate, five windows and two pitched roofs topped by weather vanes.
Meaning:
Lugau had been part of the Lordship of Wolkenstein. Black coal mining had been an important business line until 1960. The others had been textiles industry and engine building. Lugau gained city rights in 1924. The house probably is of historical origin, but details are unknown. The golden colour is symbolising the blessings of harvest, the black colour is referring to coal mining.

The arms are in use since 1925 probably without approval. They are based on a municipal seal from 1811.
