Möhrendorf Coat of Arms

Shield Gules a 6-spokes scoop wheel Argent with six buckets Or, base wavy quartered of Argent and Sable.
Meaning:
Möhrendorf has been famous for ist scoop wheels for a long time. The existence of the first wheels is proven since 1413. They flourished in the 18th century. They were used for irrigation of the local fields and meadows alongside the valley of the Regnitz River. Even today there still exist 12 scoop wheels and nine of them are still working. The quartered base is referring to the Margraves of Brandenburg-Bayreuth, local rulers until 1803. The base is also alluding to the location on the banks of the Regnitz River and canting for Kleinseebach, which had been incorporated in 1971. The tinctures white and red are those of the Free Imperial City of Nürnberg, as members of its patrician families had been owners of Oberndorf Estate for a long time.
