It is a blue-white-blue vertical tricolour, divided 1:4:1 with coat of arms shifted to the top within the white stripe.

The blue shield displays a golden mount, issuant from base and charged with a black stomp. Issuant from mount is a silver capricorn armed golden. In dexter chief is a golden oak leaf.
Meaning:
The stomp is representing the suffix "-rode ", meaning that the settlement was established by forest clearance. The oak leaf is referring to the Eichsfeld region. The mount is representing the nearby Steinberg. The Capricorn is referring to a nickname of the local people.
