Huisheim Coat of Arms

Shield Or, in base a sinister facing negro's head Sable with collar, ear ring and coronet Gules, in chief a blue initial "K" topped by a crest coronet of the same, both flanked by a waning crescent Gules at dexter and a fleur-de-lis Gules at sinister.
Meaning:
Initial and crest coronet are the symbols of the Imperial Kaisheim Abbey, which acquired one half of Huisheim in 1516. The abbey already owned large estates since 1237/1240. The tinctures of the arms of the abbey were however counterchanged. Crescent and fleur-de-lis are taken from the city arms of Wemding, which operated a hospital in Huisheim since 1423. The city increased its influence in Huisheim later.The negro's head is taken from the arms of the Bishopric of Freising.Gosheim, which merged with Huisheim in 1978, had been a fiefdom of the bishopric since 793.
