The wheat sheaf is representing the former Nördliche Börde Administrative Community (German: Verwaltungsgemeinschaft), which merged with Hohe Börde on 20 September 2004. Each wheat ear is representing one of its former municipalities: Ackendorf, Bebertal, Bornstedt, Nordgermersleben, Rottmersleben and Schackensleben.
