Warthausen Coat of Arms

Shield Sable, charged with two staffs fleury Or in saltire, chief Or charged with a wolf iron Sable.
On local seals in 1956a watch tower (German: Warthaus) had been depicted as a canting element. The charge was derived from the family arms of the Schad kin from Mittelbiberach, former rulers of the Lordship of Warthausen. This pattern was replaced in 1960 by the current arms. The staffs fleury are taken from the arms of the Lords of Warthausen. The wolf iron in counterchanged colours is taken from the arms of the Counts of Stadion, who ruled the Lordship from 1696 until 1826.
