Aidlingen Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
In a silver (= white) shield is a blue imperial globe with golden (= yellow) metal fittings. The ends of the cross are of type patty.
Meaning:
The imperial globe is known as a local symbol of Aidlingen since 1609. It appears also on a municipal seal in the 19th century and a village mayor's sel from 1923. On demand of Böblingen Oberamt the local council on 20 December 1929 adopted a coat of arms, divided per fess into silver (= white) and blue. Above was the globe, below a scythe crossed with a rake. After the rural character of the municipality had changed, scythe and rake were omitted in 1971.

Banner and coat of arms were approved on 12 January 1973 by minister of interior of Baden-Württemberg, published in GABl 1082/1973.
