Aindling Coat of Arms

Shield Argent an eagle's claw Sable with cut face Gules.
Meaning:
The cut claw probably had been the heraldic symbol of the Lords of Ainlingen, the local rulers, who died out in the late 13th century. Aindling gained the status of a market town in 1479. Since then local seals and arms are mentioned. The first known print of those seals from 1579 already displayed the claw. The pattern has never changed since then, but the tinctures changed e few times. The background had been silver or golden and the claw also had been golden on a blue shield. The current image of Otto Hupp is based on the version of Philipp Apian (around 1560) and a report of the municipality from 1811.
