In 1987, the municipality of Saint-Louis-du-Ha! Ha! adopted a new image. The municipality's coat of arms was imagined and designed by Gratien Ouellet.
The shield is quartered with a fir tree, a head of wheat, a buttercup and an observatory in the four quarters. Outside the shield is a garland of maple brances and a red ribbon with the motto" Solidarity in labour".
The fir tree
represents the rationalized exploitation of the forest where space is left for regrowth.
The ear of wheat
represents agriculture, an important resource in the economy.
The observatory symbolically represents all the tourist attractions of the municipality
with tourism and scientific leisure an important place in the economy.
The buttercup
represents the large family of Saint-Louis-du-Ha! Ha!, a family united like the petals of a flower. It also represents the bonds of brotherhood and friendship that exist between the members of
the municipality.
The cross represents religion and all members of a religious order, an important
place in the environment.
The motto
"Solidarity in Labour" means that all people of Saint-Louis-du-Ha! Ha! are united with each other, that they are not afraid to accomplish big jobs and that they all have the feeling of giving each other mutual help when an event occurs.
