Description of the flag

Diagonally divided into wavy-edged stripes, blue-white-purple with the town emblem in the centre.

Quoting the town's website:

Churchill is located on the south western shores of Hudson Bay at the mouth of the historic Churchill River, approximately 1000 kilometers north of Winnipeg. With a latitude of 58.47 N, Churchill is Manitoba’s most northern community and is accessible by air and rail. Our small and unique community has a population of approximately 1100 persons.

The photo of the flag shown above was taken on 4 August 2009.

The town's emblem features a polar bear surmonted by northern lights and surrounded by a purple "C" letter ending in a whale's tail. The emblem highlights the main resources of the town, recalling that Churchill is the "Polar Bear Capital of the World".
