Description of the Flag

The flag and arms of Vargem Bonita are prescribed by Municipal Law No. 44 promulgated on 3 June 1993.

Article 1.
I - The municipal coat of arms of Vargem Bonita shall have the following meaning.
a) Composed of a shield with a red border, protected on top by a wall in medieval style, of yellow bricks masoned in blue, symbolizing the municipality's power and autonomy
a) 1. The shield is horizontally divided into two parts of equal width on top, on the blue sky, a yellow sun with faded edges. Below, the land, a lowland ["vargem"], a yellow (foreground) to black (horizon line) gradient.
a) 2. Behind the horizon, on the right side, a factory symbolizing the municipality's production potential.
a) 3. In front of the horizon, from the center to the right, an araucaria, a pine and yerba mate, symbolizing forest resources.
a) 4. Left, a plant with long green leaves, representing agricultural production.
a) 5. Completing the foreground, eight rectangular sheets of white paper, darker and darker when moving away from the frontline, emphasizing the great production of paper and cellulose in Vargem Bonita.
b) Superimposed to the foreground, on the shield's external side, a blue scroll with a red reverse, inscribed with the name of the municipality in yellow letters. The scroll's rolled points are inscribed with the date of emancipation.

Article 3.
The flag of Vargem Bonita shall have the same proportions as the flag of Brazil, as prescribed by Federal Law No. 5,700 promulgated on 1 September 1971, Article 21 [...]

Article 4.
The municipal flag of Vagem Bonita is composed of a rectangle in proportions 150 cm x 225 cm featuring seven descending stripes with the following colors and width:
1. White, 25 cm
2. Green, 15 cm
3. White, 10 cm
4. Red, 50 cm
5. Green, 10 cm
6. White, 25 cm.
Vertically centered, a white rectangle of 90 cm on 70 cm, placed 30 cm from the hoist.
On the white rectangle, the municipal coat of arms.

Article 5.
The colors of the flag of the municipality have the following meaning, in compliance with heraldry.
- White: Symbol of peace, friendship, work, prosperity, purity and religious spirit. Also one of the colors of the mother municipality, Catanduvas.
- Green: Symbol of honor, civility, courtesy, abundance and hope. Also the color of extractive industry, yerba mate, araucaria and pine.
- Red: Dedication, patriotic love, audacity, intrepidity, courage and valiance. Also a color associated with Santa Catarina state, which has red and green colors on its flag.
- Lozenge: Central, charged with the coat of arms, represents the municipal seat emitting power with peace and harmony.
