About the Flag of Ivaiporã

The municipality of Ivaiporã (31,984 inhabitants in 2019; 43,247 ha) is located 400 km north-west of Curitiba.

The flag of Ivaiporã is prescribed by Municipal Law No. 141 promulgated in 1971. Designed by by Otaviano Proença Neto and Abílio Mateus, the flag is diagonally divided green-red by a red stripe running from upper hoist to lower fly, charged in the center with an emblem.
The emblem was originally charged with five stars representing the five districts composing the municipality. After the emancipation of Ariranha do Ivaí and Arapuã, the number of stars was reduced to three, representing Jacutinga, Santa Bárbara e Alto-Porã.
