About the Flag of Pará de Minas

The flag of the Municipality of Para de Minas in the State of Minas Gerais, Brazil, is  found at http://www.parademinas.mg.gov.br/Cidade_Simbolos_Bandeira.html. It is 1:2 vertical bicolor of red and white with a black cog wheel in the center, and inside that a counterchanged fleur de lis. Below is a counterchanged ribbon with the words IN FIDE ET LABORE.

The web page reports:
The flag of Pará de Minas, designed by Cônego Gabriel Hugo da Costa Bittencourt, was instituted by the Municipal Law nš 851, of 16.09.1965. Red symbolizes love, white peace. The city was founded under protection of Our Lady of Mercy whose symbol is fleur de lis. The mission of Our Lady is to bring love and peace. The cog-wheel, generally black, symbolizes work. The flower is joined to the wheel, representing the synthesis in our history of faith and work. The slogan : In Fide et Labore is Latin for "By Faith and Work".
