Freisen Coat of Arms

Shield quartered, 1st quarter Sable a sinister facing horse statant Or, 2nd quarter Or a broken wheel Gules with 8 spokes and blades Argent, 3rd quarter Or a bend Gules charged with three eaglets Argent, 4th quarter Sable a lion rampant Or crowned armed and tongued Gules.
Meaning:
The 1st quarter displays the so called "little horse of Freisen" (German: Freisener Pferdchen), a sculpture made of stone. The 2nd quarter displays the attribute of St. Catherine, patron saint of the church of Oberkirchen. The 3rd quarter displays the arms of the Dukes of Lothringen. The 4th quarter displays the lion of the Electors and Palatine Counts of Rhine.
