Description of banner:
It is a 9-stripes banner having vertical, alternating red and white stripes (according to source the red cloth is divided by 4 vertical pallets of equal width). The banner has an armorial bannerhead.

Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
The shield is divided per fess. Above is a golden(=yellow) demi-eagle, armed red, in a black field. Below is a red, statant lion, armed silver(=white) in a silver(=white) field.
Meaning:
According to Ralf Hartemink the upper half shows an imperial eagle, which is symbolizing the former imperial estate of Eckenhagen in 1167 and acquired by the counts of Berg in 1527. The lion is symbolizing the counts and dukes of Berg, the former rulers.
