Coat of arms

Shield Argent, a tau-cross Gules flanked by a bunch of wheat ears Vert at dexter and two mallets Gules crossed per saltire at sinister. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "NOSSA SENHORA DA GRAÇA DOS DEGOLADOS"
Meaning of the charges in arms:
The tau-cross is here related to Our Lady of Grace of the Beheaded, the local patron saint. It is representing virtues, especially purity, honour and loyalty. The mallets are symbolizing mining. The wheat ears are symbolizing agriculture and are reminding on the fact that already the first settlers had been cultivated the soil. Wheat is even today an important local product.
