Windach Coat of Arms

Shield Azure, a horse salient Argent armed Or on top of a triplemount issuant Argent, in chief a fess wavy Argent.
Meaning:
The (young) horse (German: Fohlen) on a triplemount is a canting element, taken from the arms oft he Barons Füll of Windach. Franz Füll, a citizen of München, acquired the district of Windach in 1596 and built a new manor. The family gained the title of a baron in 1610 and owned the district until 1825. The fess wavy is representing the Windach River. The triplemount is representing the former municipalities of Ober- Unter and Mittel-Windbach ( upper, lower and central) and their unification in 1939. The tinctures are not those of the arms of the Füll kin. They had been chosen in order to avoid mismatches with other arms displaying horses. Furthermore they are the tinctures of Bayern.
