Description of the Flag

The flag of Danville is a dark burgundy field with an outline of an golden eagle. The town's name is curved above the eagle. Under the eagle is the name "Golden Eagles". The name most likely refers to a local sports team, along with the chosen colors. However, there is no such sports team in the town with the name of Golden Eagles. There could've been one at one point, but I have yet to find any confirmation on this. however, there is a sports team under the University of Charleston, which is called the Golden Eagles. If that is the reason, then it could've been added to the town flag if somebody from Danville played a major role within the Golden Eagles.
