Description of the flag

The city of Sartell launched a "branding refresh" on January 10, 2023, and the flag with the new logo appeared in the city council chamber on February 27. It replaces the previous flag that used a logo adopted in 1994.

Logo description:
THE BRIDGE is a simple representation of the Old Sartell Bridge located on the Mississippi River. This landmark speaks not only to Sartellís history but to the idea of progress and connecting the past to the future.

THE SUN is a symbol of good representing Sartellís positivity, energy, and overall warmth of the community.

THREE RAPIDS reflect upon Sartellís history when the City of Sartell was first known as ďThe Third RapidsĒ by the French fur traders. Furthermore, the bottom rapid with the green hue has a dual- purpose of representing not only the third rapid but also a bank along the river.

THE CIRCLE is representative of community, friendship, unity, inclusivity, and growth.

COLORS the colors were chosen because they represent ideas our residents have about the City including: growing, energetic, modern, safe, secure, and active.

I received a photograph of the flag from Sartell's Engagement Direct Nikki Sweeter.

The flag can be seen on this official photo from the city council chamber. It is clearly the city logo.

However, photos from a recent talk by Congressman Tom Emmer (https://media.gettyimages.com/photos/rep-tom-emmer-listens-to-a-question-at-a-town-hall-meeting-on-22-in-picture-id643949026?s=2048x2048) shows that "Minnesota" has been removed from the logo used on the city's website (https://sartellmn.com). On the city's Facebook page, the earliest logo (without the city's name) dates from 2009 (https://www.facebook.com/CityofSartell/)
