According to City Clerk Ivy Llauro, the previous flag was adopted in October 2003. It uses the city logo and shows a sailboat on East Lake Tohopekaliga and states “Soldier City” for the town’s founding by veterans of the US Civil War and states “Celebrating Small Town Life” for its atmosphere.

First Flag

The flag before that was adopted sometime before 1994, although the city clerk Ivy Llauro was unable to find an exact date. She thinks any time after 1965 is possible, which is when the plan for Walt Disney World was announced. The flag features the town’s initials in large letters, sailboats on East Lake Tohopekaliga, a cannon and cannonballs representing the town's founding by veterans of the US Civil War, and Walt Disney World's Cinderella castles to symbolize the tourism industry. This flag was discovered by Daniel Renteria via a 1994 article in the Orlando Sentinel.
