Presentation of Reyhanlı

The municipality of Reyhanlı (89,093 inhabitants in 2012, 63,563 in the town proper; 40,997 ha) is located on the border with Syria, close to the Bab al-Hawa Border Crossing. The Reyhanlı. Dual car bombings of 11 May 2013 claimed 52 lives, while another 140 people were injured; responsibility for the attack has not been elucidated yet.

The emblem of the municipality features a map of Hatay Province (in yellow for the province, blue for the sea, and red for the neighbouring land areas) and a cotton flower, representing the main crop in the area.
