Description of the flag

City of Zeya has its flag for almost a decade. The coat of arms was adopted on 02.09.1999, and the flag on 03.08.2016.

The blue field of the Flag symbolizes the Zeya River, which gave its name to the city. The emergence of the city in 1879 is associated with the discovery of gold deposits in the Zeya basin, which is reflected in the Flag with a golden eight-pointed star on a blue background. The modern development of the city is associated with the Zeya Hydroelectric Power Station, allegorically depicted as a silver lightning bolt - a symbol of energy. The green color of the field symbolizes the forestry industry and the natural surroundings of the city.
