Demisexuality is the condition when sexual attraction can be experienced only after an emotional bond has been formed. [1,2,3,4,5] As such, it is a specific case, or rather a specific subset, of gray sexuality.

Flag description

The flag attributed to demisexuality employs the same colors as used in the asexuality flag and their meanings are the same, but the pattern differs: [6] narrow purple horizontal stripe between white field at the top and gray field at the bottom, and a black triangle based at the hoist. One of the earliest verified examples of the flag use was at the San Francisco Pride 2017. [7] In Israel, it was hoisted in Rothschild Boulevard, Tel Aviv together with many other sexual orientation flags in early June 2018, [8] possibly in honor of the Tel Aviv Pride, which traditionally takes place at that time every year. In Karlsruhe, Germany, the flag image appeared at the Christopher Street Day 2019, appearing on a large bilboard together with the description of orientation it represents, as was done with a number of other orientations and their flags. [9] Later same year, the flag was flown at the Cologne Pride 2019, the available photos displaying it incompletely, but still enabling its recongition. [10,11,12] As these examples reveal, the shades of gray and purple may vary, as does the ratio, which is still usually 3:5.
