About the Flag

It is a fairly typical Portuguese municipal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a quartered red over white field.

Argent field, a cross pommy gules, in chief an açor bird sable, lined argent a carrying on its claw a quina. Argent 4 towers mural crown(town rank). White scroll with upper case black letters "LAGOA".

Presentation of Lagoa

Lagoa Municipality is subdivided into five communes covering 45,57 km² and had 14 416 habitantes in 2011. It gained the rank of a city on 22 March 2012. It is part of the Açores.
