1 September 2020 was the official release of the emblems of both the Olympic and Paralympic games. The "L" and "28" are the same, but the "A" is modified by a different artist. The diffent "A" is to show the fluidity of the digital age and showcases the best of what Los Angeles offers to the world. (source). All of the variants can be seen here; not all variants have been used in logos and each variant can be used for both the Olympics or Paralympics; also the different "A" is used when the Olympics and Paralympics logos are combined (so a possible of 1,225 combinations, at least).

On the same day that Paris was awarded the 33rd Summer Olympics in 2024, Los Angeles was awarded the 34th Summer Olympics to be hosted in 2028. There was no bidding process for the 2028 Games separately.
