Overview

Flag and coat of arms of Palanga (Klaipeda county - Klaipedos apskritis). The flag is according to my personal observation from the flag show of Mindaugas coronation 750th anniversary. The coat of arms is drawn according to image from the book: The Heraldry of Lithuania.

Palanga municipality - On a blue field a silver crown and golden collar. Flag proportions 5:6, free edges bordered with a narrow golden stripe, finial is a golden knob and golden bands. The blue field means the Baltic Sea. The charge reflects the Lithuanian myth about the sea goddess Jurate, her calamitous love to the mere fisherman Kastytis and destroyed (as punishment from the supreme god Perkunas) Jurate's amber castle, which shards became amber of Baltic Sea.
