Flag

Located in Sapporo City Hokkaido Prefecture and established in 1949. The university flag has white background with a green and blue symbol mark in the center. The symbol mark was established to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the university's founding, with the aim of further enhancing and developing the university in the future. The "hue" is named after the initials of the Hokkaido University of Education of Education, with the "h" meaning humanity, hope, the "u" meaning unity, universality, and the "e" meaning energy. The "five stars" represent the five schools of Sapporo, Asahikawa, Kushiro, Hakodate, and Iwamizawa, as well as the initial "E" of "Education" and the constellation Cassiopeia (the landmark for finding the North Star), which is one of the stars in the northern sky. The design combining the word "hue" and five stars represents the desire and spirit of Hokkaido University of Education of Education, on the occasion of its 50th anniversary, to continue to nurture human resources with rich humanity, to overcome difficulties by working together, and to make strong strides toward a future with hope. The nickname for this symbol mark is "Hue Mark."
