The municipality of Langarud (79,445 inhabitants in 2016) is located in north-western Iran, on the south coast of the Caspian Sea.
The emblem features the two-arched Kheshti bridge (37 m in length) spanning over river Langarud. The bridge was erected by Haj Aqa Bozorg Monajem Bashi during the reign of Fath Ali Shah Qajar (1797-1834), on the old road connecting the town to Lahijan.
