Introduction of Pasundan State

On 4 May the Pasundan Republic was proclaimed, which was dissolved later that year. On 26 February 1948 a State of West Java was established as part of the United States of Indonesia. It was renamed to State of Pasundan on 24 Apriil 1948 and incorporated into the Republic of Indonesia in 1949. The state was supported by the Dutch government in order to weaken the position of Indonesian Republik. It never controlled its complete territory, which was partly invaded by anti-Dutch Islamic groups like Dar-ul-Islam.

Description of the Flag

The flag of the state had been a green-white-green horizontal triband between 1948 and 1950 (see left image above).
It was preceded in 1947 by a white-green horizontal bicolour (see right image above).
