Description of the Flag

The logo has multiple meanings:
* It is a stylized map of the original MTR subway system.
* It is a stylized initials of MTR.
* It is a stylized Chinese word for 'wood' (木). Since MTR is made of metal, and subway is surrounded by earth; and since the traditional Chinese belief of Five Elements held that "earth generates metal", and "metal overcomes wood, wood overcomes earth", the wood symbol was chosen to 'harmonize' earth and metal.

Interestingly the two ends of its vertical stripe are very slightly longer than the ends of its semi-rings.

Normally a rather dark shade of red is used for the logo (on the MTR website it has the RGB value of 174:33:59), but bright red is used on the flags, the same shade as the Chinese national flag.

I drew this based on my childhood memory - the logo was definitely placed towards the fly - and with reference to the livery of the first generation MTR rolling stocks.
