Presentation of Carquefou

The municipality of Carquefou (20,032 inhabitants in 2018; 4,342 ha) is located 10 km north-east of Nantes. In 1965, the Nantes-Est business park was established between Nantes and Carquefou to accommodate SMESs. Then having 3,800 inhabitants (1968), Carquefou experienced rapid demographic growth.

Flag of Carquefou

The flag of Carquefou (photo, photo, photo), used at least since 2012, is green with a white right-angled triangle at the hoist and the municipal logo on the green part. The former flag (photo, photo) was white with a green right-angled triangle, the logo in smaller size and in green on the white part, and the motto "Cœur vert et matière grise" ("Green heart and grey matter") in lower hoist.
