The flag of Valdemoro-Sierra (video) is prescribed by an Order issued on 16
February 2001 by the Government of Castilla-La Mancha and published on 6
March 2001 in the official gazette of Castilla-La Mancha, No. 28, pp.
2,601-2,602 (text).
The flag is described as follows:
Flag: Rectangular panel, twice longer than wide (3:2), quartered white and blue. Charged in the center with the municipal coat of arms.
The coat of arms of Valdemoro Sierra is prescribed by an Order issued on
16 February 2001 by the Government of Castilla-La Mancha and published
on 6 March 2001 in the official gazette of Castilla-La Mancha, No. 28,
p. 2,602 (text).
The coat of arms is described as follows:
Coat of arms: Spanish shield. Per pale, 1. Azure two mounts and a valley vert fimbriated argent charged with waves argent and azure in chief a crescent reverted argent, 2. Argent a pine proper. The shield surmounted by a Royal crown closed.
The Royal Academy proposed modifications to the design of the coat of
arms, which alludes to the name of the municipality [the valley for
"val" and the crescent for "de Moro", "the Moor's"]. In the first
quarter, the mounts shall be placed above the waves instead of having
them superimposed. The waves shall cover c. the quarter's lower third,
reaching the base. The field of this quarter should be argent to avoid
the use of the unaesthetic fimbriation; accordingly, the field of the
second quarter should be or instead of argent. The modified arms would be:
"Per pale, 1. Argent two mounts vert over waves in chief a crescent
reversed gules, 2. Or a pine eradicated proper. The shield surmounted by
a Spanish Royal crown".
The Academy validated the proposed flag, which was, seemingly, proposed
without the coat of arms in the center, "without any inconvenience".
