Description

The port of Hondarribia (Basque) / Fuenterrabía (Spanish) is located in the Spanish Basque Country, facing Hendaye, which is located in the French Basque Country. "Diario Vasco" reports that a groups of Basque alpinists have hoisted the flag of Hondarribia on the top of Aconcagua (6, 962 m, Argentina) on 30 December 2006.

The whale recalls that Hondarrabia was in the past an important whaling port, as were other Basque ports that portrays a whale in their coat of arms (Biarritz, Hendaye, Guétary, Getara)
