The municipality of Salvaléon (1,766 inhabitants in 2019; 7,180 ha) is located 60 km south-east of Badajoz and 40 km north of Jerez de los Caballeros.

Flag of Salvaléon

The flag (photo, photo) and arms of Salvaléon, adopted on 7 January and 9 June 1992 by the Municipal Council and validated on 31 March 1992 by the Assessing Council of Honors and Distinctions of the Government of Extremadura, are prescribed by an Order issued on 15 June 1992 by the Government of Extremadura and published on 18 June 1992 in the official gazette of Extremadura, No. 48, pp. 1,411-1,413 (text).
The symbols are described as followss:

Flag: Quadrangular with a purple cross in width 1/5 of the flag's width. The upper hoist and the lower fly cantons, green. The upper fly and the lower hoist cantons, red. Charged in the center with the coat of arms in full colors, in length 1/4 of thre flag's length, in width, 1/3 of the flag's width.
Coat of arms: Per fess, 1. Argent a lion rampant purpure, 2a. Or five fig leaves vert in saltire, 2b. Or three fesses gules. The shield surmounted by a Royal crown closed.
