Rammingen Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale, at dexter parted per pale of Azure and Or charged with two ibex horns in counterchanged tinctures, at sinister Azure two mattocks Or in saltire.
Meaning:
The horns are taken from the arms of the Lords of Rammingen, first mentioned in 1147. The mattocks are taken from the arms of the Benedictine Imperial Abbey of St Martin at Weingarten, which had acquired estates in the village in 1094 and 1143. The relationship between village and abbey ended in 1802, when the abbey was secularised. The tinctures blue and yellow are those of the Fugger kin.The family owned the Imperial Lordship of Mattsies, to which Rammingen belonged, between 1598 and 1680.
