Bad Saulgau Coat of Arms

In a silver (= white) shield standing on top of a green triple mount is a red, rampant lion, armed and tongued blue and shifted to the sinister side. He is grasping a black pillar on the dexter side with both forepaws.
Meaning:
Saulgau was already a city in the 13th century. The oldest seal is known since 1273 and already shows a shield with the lion and a canting pillar (German: Säule). The lion most likely is the lion of Habsburg, as this family ruled the city at the time. The oldest coloured image dates from 1483. In 1923 the city added the triple mount in the base of the shield, for a while the triple mount was removed. The prefix "Bad" was added on 1 January 2000.
