Altdorf Coat of Arms

Shield gyronny of three of Azure, Argent and Gules, in centre ending in a helix.
Meaning:
The municipality adopted the family arms of the Altdorfer kin, which are known since the 14th century. Famous members of the kin had been Hanns Altdorfer, alderman in Landshut and chamberlain of the Bavarian dukes, and the painter Albrecht Altdorfer.
