Veilsdorf Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess, above dancetty of three points of Gules and Argent, beneath Sable a pair of scales Or.
Meaning:
The upper half displays the so called Franconian rake and is alluding to the Benedictine Fulda Monastery, to which the village was donated in 860 by Count Erpho of Franken. The scales are an attribute of St. Michael, patron saint of the former Benedictine Convent in the village. The tinctures black and yellow are those of Sachsen-Coburg, to which Veilsdorf belonged in the 19th century.
