Schluchsee Coat of Arms

Shield Azure, a stag's head caboshed Argent, in chief an impending initial "S".
Meaning:
Schluchsee Lake with neighbouring territories was donated to Sankt Blasien Monastery in the 11th century. The village was incorporated into the County of Bonndorf, a possession of the monastery, in 1699. The county was acquired by Baden in 1806. Local seals had been in use since 1830, only depicting the municipality's name. The head is a modification of the arms of Sankt Blasien. The "S" is a distinguishing mark.
