Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
The golden (= yellow) shield is divided by a Markian chequered bar. The chief is a bit enhanced containing a black peace of wall having three pinnacles, which is indeed a capital "W" (for Wetter). The German denotation is: "ein großes W im Zinnenschnitt". The base is superimposed by a red propeller, which is indeed a red blossom seeded black.
Meaning:
According to source the bar is symbolizing the counts of Mark, the former rulers. The blossom is taken from the arms of the lords of Volmarstein and had already been upon the arms of the dissolved subcounty (Amt) of Volmarstein. The "W" is alluding to the city's name.
