Geyer Coat of Arms

Shield Azure an embattled tower Or with roof Gules topped by two weather vanes Or, open gate of the same and portcullis Sable, tower charged with an inescutcheon Argent in bend charged with three vulture heads Sable ordered 2:1 and crested by a crowned helmet with a complete vulture Sable, flanked by 14 six-point stars Or ordered in four columns 4:3:3:4.
Meaning:
Geyer was called a mining municipality in 1407, a market town in 1456 and a city in 1467. Tin mining had been the most important business line from the very beginning, later also the depletion of sulphur and vitriols. The vultures (German: Geier) are canting, the tower is a representation of a watch tower from the 14th century. The stars are representing the 14 Holy Helpers.
