The shield is parted per saltire into red and silver, over all is a blue bar wavy. The chief quarter is charged with a silver 6-spokes wheel, the base quarter with a silver oak leaf.
Meaning:
The bar wavy is alluding to local fountains. The wheel is representing the Archbishops of Mainz, the former rulers. The leaf is alluding to local oak groves and to the Eichsfeld region, meaning "field of oaks".
